I have had the wonderful opportunity of working with some of the world's most extraordinary and innovative dance artists - documentary, large scale multi-camera productions and short, experimental cutting edge films and installations. My first dance film, We Jive Like This, was a documentary made in the townships of South Africa just before the end of the apartheid era. Plane Song followed, commissioned by BBC's Sound on Film featuring South African dance artist, Vincent Mantsoe, with original music by Kevin Volans. As a freelance filmmaker I worked with many of the leading dance companies and choreographers, in particular Siobhan Davies, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Lea Anderson of The Cholmondeleys and The Featherstonehaughs. I was one of the three directors on the BBC's Prix Italia prize winning series The Dancer's Body, produced by legendary Bob Lockyer and presented by writer and former ballerina Deborah Bull. In the early 2000s Bob Lockyer, Annie McGeogh and I set up Xenoki Productions which specialised in multi-camera 'captations' of live performances at Sadlers Wells in London. We worked regularly with a small team of brilliant camera artists and sound wizards to produce work which was broadcast or published on DVD or the internet.

Below are some short excerpts from productions. Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's Faun, featuring James O'Hara,  is full length (15 minutes).
